Three blast went off in Maiduguri, Nigeria during late evening hours at around 8pm, killing at least seven people stated by locals and Red Cross.
In Ajilari cross area of the city, a big explosion went off and as said by locals and Red Cross, has currently killed at least 7 people. The area has been targeted twice now, and including September 20th attack when at least 117 were killed.
September 20th attack was on a mosque and killed football fans that were watching a match, as well as passer-by.
On October 1, two teenage suicide bombers blew themselves up in an attack on Ajilari Cross near Maiduguri military base and airport, leaving at least 39 injured and 10 killed. These previous attacks were blamed on Islamic sect "Book Haram".
Bashir Mohammed, whose house is near the scene said it was unclear what has caused the latest blast that occurred circa 8pm. " Seven dead bodies has been evacuated from the scene of the blasts," said a Red Cross official.
A cleric in the area, Sheriff Ahmad said the numbers of people killed are many, he said now's counting isn't definitive. Ahmad said he has seen body parts in his house. "I don't know how many and I don't think anyone can tell you now," he said.
Umaru Shehu Hospital has been receiving injured people as police, soldiers, Red Cross and officials from Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) were mobilised. A nurse at the hospital, Hafsat Sani, said "There are many houses around the area and blasts have affected many of them."
The police and military haven't made any public announcements, details are imprecise as a night time curfew was placed on Maiduguri.
